Jess is a co-author, along with Lynn Ross of Spirit for Change Consulting, of the forthcoming Planning Advisory Service Report on Rental Housing. She also serves on APA’s Social Equity Task Force.


Jess serves as the Curator for the inaugural (2019-2021) cohort of the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation’s Public Spaces Fellowship.


Jess supports the Lincoln Institute’s Legacy Cities Community of Practice with program design, technical assistance, and facilitation support.

Jess works with the National League of Cities on their Equitable Economic Development Fellowship, Shared Equity in Economic Development Fellowship, Legacy Cities Task Force, and Housing Task Force.


Jess is helping to design and facilitate an international and inter-disciplinary workshop in April 2019 on the topic of rethinking how we define and govern streets and vehicle classifications to make our cities more sustainable, joyful, and just.
